EDILTECO AND MUTINA ARBOREA FOR URBAN REFORESTATION

Nature regenerates, heals, and "connects us." It is the beating heart of a healthy and happy community. This is why we at Edilteco have decided to take another fundamental step to improve our local area. We are thrilled to announce our membership in the “Mutina Arborea” Forestry Consortium

“About a year ago, our colleague Elena found four tiny acorns and decided to nurture them. They sprouted, grew quickly, and began demanding more space. Elisa Stabellini, HR at Edilteco, suggested planting them in the company’s green spaces. Today, those four little sprouts are thriving, lush, and will one day become majestic oaks.” This story beautifully reflects the spirit we strive to foster and encourage at Edilteco every day. Since our inception, sustainability has been central to our ethos—initially as an “indirect” consequence of pursuing thermal comfort in homes, but later as a concrete and deliberate commitment, passionately supported by management and embraced by employees and collaborators alike.

For some time now, we have implemented various initiatives to promote a culture of social responsibility. However, what we’ve accomplished is not enough, and we cannot stop at the initial milestones. This is why we decided to start a collaboration with Mutina Arborea, sharing a common goal of developing numerous projects for the reforestation of the Po Valley.

The Po Valley is, unfortunately, the area with the most polluted air in Europe. Its geographical configuration, which leads to stagnant air masses and minimal ventilation, along with heavy industrialization and a high population density, contributes to this sad record. Planting trees is therefore a small but significant action to absorb greater amounts of CO2 while releasing more oxygen into the air we breathe every day.

For us at Edilteco, planting trees is the simplest and most immediate way to combat ongoing climate change and reduce air pollution. The Mutina Arborea project immediately captivated us. Doing something tangible for the well-being of our region and leaving a lasting impact for future generations’ health has always been a commitment close to our hearts.

Reforestation is the most powerful and cost-effective tool we have to combat climate change.

Corporate Social Responsibility: A Concrete Commitment

For Edilteco, corporate social responsibility is, above all, about “concrete action” to make our world a better place. We embark on this “adventure” together, aware that each tree planted represents a small step toward a healthier environment. It is a commitment to the health of the planet and the communities that inhabit it—a concrete response to the climate change and air pollution surrounding us. Our hope is that each tree becomes a promise of cleaner air, regenerated habitats, and a more sustainable future for everyone.

“Conscious of our economic, social, and environmental impact, we are committed to making it a positive one.”

The Mutina Arborea Consortium

Mutina Arborea is an initiative of the Association for Corporate Social Responsibility, created to meet the European Union’s challenge: to plant at least 3 billion trees in Europe by 2030. This ambitious project is the result of the determination of several Modenese companies, including Edilteco, which decided to join forces to enhance their social and environmental impact. The specific objectives of Mutina Arborea include decontamination, climate protection, combating climate change, and improving physical and psychological well-being through a renewed connection with nature.
